Have you ever seen Saundra Dalton-Smith's 7 types of rest? I'm slowly learning how to evaluate the type of rest I need in each situation/season. The room is amazing!!
Loved all of this. I love how you advocated for yourself but all of it was motivated by love and lead by the Spirit. I love where your reflections lead you and how you wrote about them. Thank you for your words ❤️
Thank you so much for reading and the encouragement! Being Spirit-led is a huge part of learning how to communicate well and effectively. I'm slowly learning 🤣
Wow, your night away looks so dreamy. Congrats to you for "rest, respite, and reading." Sounds lovely. I also really loved the simple act of lighting a candle when you have no words for praying and saying "Christ is Light" instead. I need to start incorporating that.
A good night’s sleep somewhere pretty works wonders! I very much relate to this. So glad you got some rest--I’ve been reading Ruth Haley Barton’s newest book on Sabbath and sabbatical, and it’s reminding me just how important that quiet and rest time is.
Yes! There's so many different kinds rest and I'm glad you were able to get the exact rest you needed. Also, that room looks dreamy!

I haven’t, but now I absolutely need to check it out!
It's really good! There have also been some good podcasts where she dives into them!

It was incredibly refreshing! And the candle lighting has been so neat, because when I forget, my toddler now initiates lighting it.

Sleep really does wonders! That book sounds amazing, I'm adding it to my list!
such a good reminder. And glad you advocated for you!
I'm working on the advocating skills before I'm just resentful!
